Congratulations to Jamie Clarke on his new appointment as Rise Adviser

We are excited to announce that our trust's CEO, Jamie Clarke, has been appointed as a RISE Adviser (Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence) to the Department for Education (DfE). This prestigious role reflects Jamie’s commitment and expertise and will be crucial to the government's mission to improve school standards for all children across the country as part of its Plan for Change. While Jamie will dedicate some time to this role with the Dfe, he will continue to serve as CEO of our trust.

Currently, more than 600 schools in England have received consecutive less than good Ofsted judgments, affecting the education of over 300,000 children. The government’s RISE teams are expanding their efforts from 32 schools to over 200, reaching more than 120,000 pupils and significantly enhancing the quality of education for children and young people.

To support this expansion, the government has tripled the number of RISE advisers by adding 45 experts, bringing the total to 65. The first 32 "stuck" schools have begun collaborating with supporting organisations, including high-quality multi-academy trusts, to start their improvement journeys. These partnerships aim to leverage expertise and drive meaningful progress in the schools that need it most.

This appointment represents an exciting opportunity for Jamie Clarke and our trust to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education across England. Together, we can help create brighter futures for all children.
