Stantonbury School Improved Ofsted Rating!

Since joining the Trust in September 2021, Stantonbury School has made significant strides in improving all aspects of their education provision. This has been evidenced in their most recent Ofsted report from a visit in January this year. We are pleased to share that the school achieved a Good rating in 3 out of 5 areas, with 2 areas and the overall rating receiving Requires Improvement.

With a focus on continual growth and improvement, Stantonbury School remains dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for its students. The school has taken a collaborative approach, welcoming the feedback and suggestions of the parental community. The Ofsted inspectors observed that “Community engagement is at the heart of the school’s improvement journey. The trust and the school have reached out to parents to collaborate on improving pupils’ experiences.”

The trust and the school have taken on board the encouraging feedback from Ofsted, and are already putting plans in place to ensure an even better outcome in the future. Associate Principal Ben Wilson stated “Although we are very pleased with the improved inspection grade we recognise that there is still much to be done so that we can be judged good or better in all areas by the next time Ofsted visit. Leaders and Governors are now in the process of drawing up a post inspection plan that will enable this to happen.”

In a letter to parents, Associate Principal Ben Wilson said “We hope that the Ofsted report will provide assurance that the school is heading in the right direction and that you will continue to engage so positively in supporting your child’s education.  During the verbal feedback that was provided to the leadership team and Governors at the end of the inspection the lead inspector read a quote from a parent response to the Ofsted parent view survey; ‘The school is heading in the right direction and we are just starting to benefit - it can now grow and develop further’.  I think this is a great summary of where we are.”

As a trust, we are delighted to see the positive impact on the school since joining us in 2021. Executive Principal Jim Parker stated “It is important to recognise just how much leaders at all levels have achieved in a short period of time, every aspect of the school’s work has been reviewed; there is no part of school life that hasn’t been reviewed and improved”. Ofsted recognised “The trust and those responsible for governance provide effective oversight of the schools’ development. They challenge leaders to make vital improvements and assure themselves that statutory obligations are met. Trust resources and expertise are deployed effectively to benefit staff and pupils.”

This inspection marks an exciting journey for both the school and its community. With a dedicated and ambitious leadership team at the helm, we are determined to support the school in their goal to elevate standards and foster a positive learning environment for all.
